It is hard not to love the internet. You can find information with the push of a button; you can shop with a push of a button; you can research with a push of a button; and, you can watch good TV shows with a push of a button.
All thanks to high-bandwidth internet connections internet streaming of good TV shows and movies have becoming big business and are a very popular service amongst its users. Instead of following a strict regimen of sitting down at your TV at a certain hour to catch your show and sitting through every single commercial for fear of missing a single important scene, streaming services allow us to watch our favorite TV shows at whatever times are most convenient for us. It is kind of hard to beat that kind of convenience.
Another advantage of streaming good TV shows is that there is no physical media you have to go out of your way to pay for. You can just sit back and enjoy the show, so to speak. Also, you get to save space that might have been used to store the large numbers of DVDs and Blu-Ray discs; in fact, I still remember the days in which VHS tapes were the norm and each tape was almost as large as two DVD cases combined. Now imagine having to store the beasts of a medium. Thankfully, VHS are a thing of the past and people have come to accept that media streaming is the wave of the future while the option for DVDs and high definition Blu-Ray discs is also available for people who would rather own a physical copy.
This begs the question, why would anyone want to own physical media when internet streaming is around? For one thing, not everyone in the country has a high-speed internet connection. A recent survey done by the Census Bureau reports that around 40 percent of people in the United States do not have broadband or high-speed internet. And streaming good TV shows require high bandwidth otherwise picture quality would suffer, buffering would be obscenely long, or you would be lucky to watch anything at all. Another reason people do not simply toss their discs in the trash in lieu of internet streaming is that we have become so used to owning physical media we feel like we can trust in it more. If your internet goes down, it stays down until someone at the internet service provider fixes the problem. With physical media, while there are more things that can possible go wrong, Best Evan Peters Movies, even if the DVD player breaks or the DVD itself breaks, you could go out and buy another of either of those items. You cannot very well go out and buy another internet connection and start streaming right away.
While physical media is not going away any time soon, we all come to expect that we can find good TV shows on the internet for us to view whenever we want.
